Unreal Engine 5 Stylized Environment (Season 2)
Every great environment starts with a single question: where do I even begin?
This course began its life back in 2024, originally produced in Persian for the 3DRedbox Studio learning library. It quickly became one of our most complete environment courses — a full journey through building a stylized world in Unreal Engine 5, from an empty viewport to a finished, atmospheric scene.
This year, we decided it deserved a wider audience, so we translated and re-produced the entire course in English, bringing the same step-by-step workflow to creators around the world.
📌 Note: This is S2 of a larger, comprehensive Unreal Engine course. It builds directly on the foundations covered in Part 1. If you're new to the series, we recommend starting there first:
🔗 Season 1 — https://www.artstation.com/a/53729477
You'll begin the way every real production begins: with a reference board and a plan. From there, the course walks you through blocking out your scene, refining your models, and shaping a world that actually feels alive.
Along the way, you'll learn:
🔸 Stylized vs. realistic approaches — and how to choose the right one
🔸 Building a solid reference board before touching a single asset
🔸 Detailed use of Unreal's modeling tools
🔸 UV management and unwrapping directly inside Unreal
🔸 The importance of a strong block-out
🔸 Creating stylized landscape materials
🔸 Using Runtime Virtual Textures (RVT)
🔸 Setting up foliage that fits the art style
🔸 Blueprint creation for level design
The technical backbone is built on UE5 for base modeling, with 3ds Max used to refine and prepare the models — a real, production-style pipeline rather than isolated tricks.
By the end, you won't just know how to use the tools — you'll understand why each step matters, and you'll have built a complete stylized environment of your own.
